Family Farm, Watertown Ct. When Shannon contacted me about photographing her and Nate’s Connecticut Farm Wedding, I was thrilled. Farms and Farmers are my editorial photography specialty (ChristineAshburnPhoto.com) and it is my hope for my wedding photography as well. Although Shannon is from Connecticut and her step father’s Watertown family farm set the setting for their nuptials, she and Nate now reside in Hawaii with the one year old son, Donovan. Given the distance, I was not able to meet Shannon until a month before their wedding. It was immediately apparent to me that Shannon is genuine human being that leads with her heart – and that she truly loves Nate and is an exceptional mother. Her excitement about her upcoming wedding was apparent but her love for Nate and Donovan was absolutely foremost in her mind. It was only a pleasure to be in her presence. To top it all off, Shannon was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever encountered. The folks at The Beauty Bar in Southington, CT styled her up-do and it was gorgeous. Her dress was exquisite and suited her perfectly. One of my favorite moments was when Shannon peaked out the window from where she was getting ready to see her and Nate’s guests arriving. I could not help but feel her excitement. The farm setting was also an idyllic backdrop. They set up a tent in a field for the reception and roasted a pig, Did I mention that Nate is a chef? He created the menu and prepped the meal and their friends and family stepped in to help. I adored the eggplant, and I am still dreaming about the the Latin influenced corn on the cob. My second photographer and I feasted, it was the best wedding meal I have ever had. I loved Shannon and Nate’s down to earth farm wedding. It was an absolute pleasure to meet and photograph them. Congratulations Shannon, Nate and Donovan!
