It is so awesome to photograph a local couple’s wedding, especially when the groom’s family are long time locals and the bride is such a sweetheart.
When I first arrived to photograph Marissa getting ready she warmly greeted me and asked ME if I needed anything. She seriously fussed over me – the last thing she should be concerning herself with! Her smile was infectious and never faltered throughout her and Jack’s Wedding day.She was truly caught up in the moment. I completely melted when during her Church ceremony, she took a moment turn around and flash me the sweetest smile with a little wave.
Jack and Marisa hired me months before their wedding day and by that time they were pretty much done all their wedding preparations. They wanted to enjoy their engagement and not stress over the little details. This approach extended to their actual wedding day as well. They told me in advance that they wanted to enjoy their wedding day with as little posed photos as possible. Yes, we took time to do the more posed family and wedding party photos but when it came time to photograph them formally as a couple, they were done and ready to get to their cocktail hour after about four minutes. They did warn me!

As I expected, Their reception was filled with local characters – many that I personally knew! It was so much fun to wander about photographing so many fun people in a casual way and without a heavy specific agenda. Thank you Jack and Marissa for being such fun clients and congratulations!
