A Dreamy Marriage Proposal at Boscobel Home & Gardens

I adore the excitement and anticipation of photographing a surprise marriage proposal. However, what moves me the most is the care and forethought the proposer puts into making sure the occasion is extra special for their love. This proposer did not disappoint when he insisted on Boscobel Home and Garden as the location to pop the question. Yes, there are many places across the Hudson Valley to propose marriage to your love but Boscobel Home & Garden makes for the ultimate dreamy backdrop for a surprise wedding proposal, an engagement session, or a wedding. 

Boscobel Home & Garden is a Hudson Valley gem.  It features a lovingly rebuilt 1808 neoclassical home, a rose garden, a herb garden, and a breathtaking lawn that overlooks the stunning Hudson Highlands portion of the Hudson River.  Que a fall sunset and you have the making of a magical evening. It really is special and provides many easily accessible and stunningly gorgeous places to photograph. 

These two traveled up from their home in NYC to spend some time in the outdoors during the 2020 pandemic.  Little did she know that her love was going to use this excursion to Boscobel as an opportunity to propose marriage and that a photographer would be there to capture it all. The surprise is clearly visible on her face in the photos below.  

After she said yes, (thank goodness she said. “yes”) and I gave them a few moments alone, we simply went for a walk around the grounds at Boscobel Home and Garden and took in the fall sunset. It was easy to take some moments to breathe in the easy November air and get wrapped up in the emotional moments. The excitement and love between these two were wonderful to capture.  I am so grateful to be a part of this Boscobel wedding proposal.
