Engagement Photography, Garrison, NY | Brittany and Peter

It was Peter’s mom who first introduced Brittany and Peter.  The sparks between these two were immediate. It was therefore not a huge surprise when Peter proposed last winter. As a wedding photographer, it was especially exciting. 

For their engagement session, we choose a well familiar trail in Garrison, NY.  I have been down this path on numerous occasions but had never thought of it from a photographic perspective.  However, on a recent hike, I realized it would be perfect for Peter and Brittany’s Hudson Valley engagement session.  As it turns out, Peter is also well familiar with the trail.  

The trail is not long but it wanders past ruins, a woodland meadow, two bridges, a beach and an incredible view of the Hudson River. It really is a great location, especially at sunset. Oh, that glorious sun!  I was so happy it finally made an appearance.

Their Garrison, NY engagement photography session was my last photography session before NY State shut down non-essential business due to the Coronavirus.  Peter and Brittany’s engagement session ended at 7:30 PM and the state mandate went into effect at 8:00 PM. 

It was great fun to spend time with these two, along with Peter’s younger brother who helped sherpa gear and hold an off-camera light. We laughed lots.  I especially liked hanging more closely with Brittany. She is even funnier and sweeter than I previously imagined. I could see more clearly how she and Peter fit so well.  It was a sweet honor to document this time in these two lives and I am looking forward to their 2021 West Hills Country Club wedding.
