A Passionate Late Spring Wedding at The Garrison
Instant connection! Yes, that’s how I’d describe my collaboration with Diane and Eddie for their spring wedding at The Garrison! And it all started with a phone call I hesitated to answer. Why? I’ll tell you in a bit. But first, let me introduce you to this ravishing couple with big hearts and totally in love. Diane – the bride – is of Polish descent and her groom Eddie is Cuban, and they currently live in New York. And what a gorgeous wedding these two had – surrounded by their loved ones and amid the picturesque environs of The Garrison, nestled in the Hudson Highlands. For me, as their photographer, this translated into fun images that showed their passion for one another.

Remember what I told you just a little while back about almost not taking the call? Now let’s get to that part. Well, I was sitting in a cafe in Miami’s South Beach on vacation when a call came in on my cell phone with a Miami area code. I was enjoying my coffee and a warm view of the beach – and thought of skipping the call. However, the Miami area code got me curious. Did I leave something behind in the restaurant I visited the night before? Nope, it was Eddie, calling me from New York to ask about my photography services for their late spring wedding at The Garrison. Eddie’s area code was from Miami because he grew up in Miami. When I explained to him that I was in Miami at that moment, and the coincidence of his area code, we had a laugh and it felt meant to be. I immediately felt at ease with Eddie and Diane from that very first phone call. There was an easy rhythm between us. Again – instant, simpatico!
These two passionate souls had such a wonderful spring wedding at The Garrison. It was so wonderful to witness their love firsthand and to document it – from them getting to their emotional ceremony with the majestic Hudson Highlands in the background. I love how Eddie’s passion for Diane could not be contained when in the middle of their ceremony he buried his face in Diane’s chest. I absolutely loved the passion between these two. Their love combined with the beauty of The Garrison made my job a breeze.
I remember telling Diane while I was taking the wedding day portraits that she and I were the same person – we both possess big hearts and lots of fire. There is also a regalness to us both. That doesn’t mean that Diane or I look down on others – definitely not, but we both expect complete adoration from our partner. In return, they get all of our hearts and care. Months later, I fully realized the connection between Diane and me while scrolling Instagram. I saw that Diane and I shared the same birthday, August 17th – and that we were both Leos! Of course, there is no doubt that Eddie also has a huge heart and worships his ladylove.
Diane and Eddie, It was a pleasure getting to know you and playing my little role in documenting your kick-ass spring wedding at The Garrison. I’m glad I picked up that call! Here’s wishing you two a lifetime of happiness! Keep loving unabashedly!
