Hudson Valley Photography | Briarcliff Manor Wedding
There is something about the way that Fatima and Michael laugh together. The way they lean into each other and find the same things humorous. I noticed it the first time I photographed them at their engagement session and again at their Briarcliff Manor wedding. It is endearing.
Fatima and Michael met at Iona College – 11 years ago!
By the time they were married at The Briarcliff Manor they already had a familiarity about them that I don’t always see in most newlyweds. There was a balance and rhythm between them that they had already sorted out.
Mike was well into medical school when they started planning a spring wedding at The Briarcliff Manor. He graduated just before they were wed. The Briarcliff Manor was the perfect Westchester backdrop to celebrate the blending of their families and begin their own chapter. It was a fun and lively crowd that embraced the couple with pure love.
Ironically, I had photographed a couple of their guests prior. I am originally from Arthur Avenue in the Bronx. When I visit the area, I often bring my camera with me. Many years ago I did some quick portraits in the iconic mozzarella store, Casa Della Mozzarella, just for fun and then forwarded the images on to the proprietor. I was amazed to find out that one of these portraits included the owner and his son, and that they are very good friends of Mike’s. In fact, I realized that many of the vendors that Fatima and Michael hired were also from the Bronx – I and my second photographer included. I don’t think Fatima and Mike intentionally did this but most certainly instinctually. Bronx was in the house! Congratulations Fatima and Mike!
