Seated at the base of Blackhead Mountain in the gorgeous Northern Catskill Mountain region, Shinglekill Falls B&B is a lovely place to tie the knot in New York. The renovated 1800s house and the surrounding property have a sweet chill ambiance. When I was made aware that Sofia and Sam were to marry here, I immediately knew we would hit it off. And not surprisingly, I also found a few more personal connections at their wedding, which was like the cherry on the cake.
Shinglekill Falls B and B Wedding Photography
Sam and Sofia planned and executed a wonderful wedding celebration filled with love and zero fussiness. Their Shinglekill Falls B and B wedding was all about enjoying and rejoicing those special moments with family and friends. They prioritized celebrating their connection with those closest to them, and as a result, the wedding was chill and filled with warmth.
Mid-wedding, I realized the wonderful connections that Sofia, Sam, and I shared. To my surprise, another couple whose wedding I had photographed years ago walked in as their guests. Also, the groom’s sister and I shared a wonderful mutual friend. It just felt right that I was a wedding photographer and assured me that I am on the right path in connecting with kind, genuine, and down-to-earth couples. It’s what keeps me going and makes me love my job even more.
On their wedding day, Sofia and Sam were so relaxed and comfortable. There were so many amazing moments at the wedding, and one of them happened during the best man's speech. It brought me to tears when he emphasized that as a fully committed couple, Sofia and Sam, must always work things out - no matter what - NO MATTER WHAT!
Although the picturesque Shinglekill Falls is right next to the B and B, Sam asked if I would mind photographing him and Sofia in a field on his friend's private property just up the road. Um, they totally had me at "field".
